The palace was initially a possession of the Gianfigliazzi family which lived in it till the end of the Eighteenth century.  In 1825 it was bought by Louis Bonaparte and later on was converted to the &#8220;The Four Nations&#8221; hotel. It was sold to the Lamporecchi family and eventually it was purchased by the Belgian family Van der Linden d&#8217;Hooghvorst. At that time the palace was restored by architect Bartolomeo Silvestri (1841). He organized   the distribution of the facade&#8217;s   windows and enclosed its top floor panoramic loggia. The penthouse was totally restructured and all   rooms were renovated to allow lavish parties and receptions during the period Florence was considered the world&#8217;s capital of wealth and elegance.
